The day draws to a gentle close with the Sound and Light Show at the historic Cellular Jail which gives you a vivid experience of its strong association with the freedom fighters and their struggle for independence.
Day 2: Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island), Radhanagar Beach
Get geared up to visit Asia’s No.1 beach rated by Times magazine, Radhanagar beach. This virgin white sand beach is the best place for swimming as there are no rocks on the coast and the waves are not too high. Although Havelock is the most developed of the islands, it’s still very low-key and simple – a world away from the busy life of mainland India.
Note: In case of morning cruise departures, please carry a packed breakfast
Day 3: Elephant Beach and return to Port Blair by evening ferry
Embark on a snorkeling trip, just 40 min by Boat, this beach offers snorkelers calm blue shallow waters and is the perfect spot for beginner snorkelers. The boat goes right up to the beach and it’s so easy to slip on the gear and just start snorkeling. The beach is very scenic with fallen trees and white sand giving the photographer some interesting shots. The reef here starts close to shore at a depth of about 1 meter. Once you are done with the activities, spend some time lying on the beach and relaxing. Head back to Havelock by afternoon.
Note: In case of inclement weather, if sailing to Elephant beach is not possible, an alternate tour of the Lighthouse shall be conducted.
Day 4: Mount Harriet & Chidiyatapu
Stationed at 365 meters and 15 km by road and ferry from Port Blair, Mount Harriet is the highest peak in South Andaman. Its natural charm and beauty attract a lot of visitors. From the top of the peak, one can get a magnificent view of Port Blair city, Ross Island, and Havelock Island. One can trek up to Madhuban through a nature trail and can find rare flora and fauna, endemic birds, animals, and butterflies. Mt. Harriet to Madhuban offers an awesome trekking trail; the complete track is lined with rich and meager forest life, flora, and fauna.
Chidiyatapu Sunset
Chidiyatapu, as the name suggests, is a bird watcher's paradise, with a wide range of flora and fauna and dense forests. The marine drive to Chidiyatapu from Port Blair passes through dense forests and a beautiful sea shore. Munda Pahad beach is ideal for spending a lazy afternoon. The fallen trees along the coastline create an amazing landscape for photography enthusiasts.
The sunset view in the sea is a mesmerizing experience to end your day. You may enjoy evening tea on the beach and head back to Port Blair as it gets dark.
Day 5- Day 8: Little Andaman (Hut Bay)
Reach Little Andaman (Hut Bay) Island by government boat. The travel date/time would depend on the ferry schedule, released 3 days back. Hut Bay is the most sought-after destination for off-beat lovers.
Visit Butler Bay beach and White Surf waterfall. The tranquil waters gushing down the rocks will calm you beyond imagination. Kalapather, Hawa beach, Harminder bay beach, and Chattan are the other main attractions in Hut Bay. If you are adventurous enough you may trek to Whisper Wave waterfall.
Note: Since there is no fixed boat schedule for Hut Bay, it is advised to keep your itinerary flexible to suit boat timings.
Day 9: Return from Hut Bay by Government Ship
It's time to return to Port Blair from Little Andaman. Most ships leave Hut Bay Port by evening and reach Port Blair the next morning. The ships are shuffled and any particular vessel cannot be guaranteed. Some ships have cabins, whereas the smaller speed boats have seats only. There are canteens on board that serve basic food items.
You will be received at Haddo jetty in Port Blair by our tour coordinator and transferred to your hotel.
Day 10: BaratangIsland through Jarawa reserve and Limestone caves
Early morning departure from Port Blair for Baratang - about 105kms by road from Port Blair. Baratang provides an ideal place for eco-friendly tourists seeking the solitude of virgin nature. The land route from Port Blair (4.5hours drive by Car) involves crossing creeks and dense tropical rain forests. Visit the exotic Limestone Caves & ride the speed boat through the dense mangrove forests.
Special note: The journey to Baratang is through a tribal reserve. On the way, you may come in contact with the primitive tribes, the Jarawa. Do not take their photographs or stop the vehicle in between to interact with them. Guests violating the tribal reserve rules are liable to be prosecuted.
Day 11: Ross and Smith Islands
These beautiful islands are a few nautical miles from Diglipur Jetty. Speedboat your way to these beautiful twin islands. What makes these islands truly beautiful and sets them apart from the rest of the islands is that these two islands are joined by a natural sand bar linking both the islands. And thus, while walking on the bar one can move from one island to the other. This white, silky sand bar goes inside the sea at times of high tide and surfaces again during low tide.
Note: There are no shops on the island, please carry snacks & water with you.
Day 12: Return to Port Blair via Rangat
Start early morning from Diglipur for your return journey to Port Blair by the Andaman Trunk road. On your way back you may stop at Austin Bridge, the bridge that connects North Andaman with Middle Andaman. The second stop would be at Dhani Nallah, this is a mangrove forest with a wooden walkway passing through the dense mangroves, leading to a beautiful beach. Few miles from Dhani Nallah is Amkunj beach. A perfect stop over to relax for a few moments before continuing your journey. Reach Port Bair by evening.
Note: You need to follow the timings strictly as the movement through tribal reserves is regulated by fixed-time convoys only.
