Kalapathar beach in Havelock
Kalapathar beach is situated on one corner of Havelock Island. The beach gets its name from the surrounding village, which is Kalapathar Village, and the black rocks (known as Kalapathar in Hindi) that adorn the coastline here. The trees on the shore have artistic roots exposed due to soil erosion. The beach has rocks with sharp edges, which makes swimming a tough task here.
How to reach Kalapathar?
Kalapathar beach is situated at the end of Havelock Island. You can hire an autorickshaw or a cab to reach there. The road to the beach somewhat resembles the marine drive with a tropical touch.
